If you’re one of the lucky individuals who received a gift of fine jewelry over this holiday season, you may be in need of one of our after-sales services. Generally necklaces, bracelets, and earrings don’t require any additional work, but rings usually need to be resized to properly fit the wearer’s finger. Here are some commonly asked questions regarding our ring resizing process.

How long does it take to have my ring resized? It typically takes about a week to resize rings. Our goldsmith comes in once a week to pick up and drop off all of our jewelry and watch repairs. So if you drop your ring off early Wednesday morning, you’ll most likely get it back the following Wednesday.

How much money does it cost to have my ring resized? If the ring was purchased at Kloiber Jewelers, we’ll cover the cost to resize your ring. If your ring was purchased elsewhere, you will have to pay a small fee. The price will vary depending on the type of metal, how many sizes you are going up or down, etc. All of these factors can affect the cost to resize a ring. We do provide free estimates for all our repairs, so you can always know what the cost will be before deciding to go ahead with the resizing.

Should I get two metal balls/beads placed inside the ring instead of resizing the entire ring?  We usually don’t recommend going this route over having your ring resized. Sizing beads can be a bit uncomfortable and selecting the right size bead can be tricky. They often have to be enlarged or made smaller after the initial installation, so these repairs can often take more time than a traditional ring resizing. When we resize your ring, we’ll measure your finger so you can be confident that the ring will fit after one sizing.
