Since we’re more than halfway through autumn (and quickly approaching one of the most popular times of the year to get engaged), we thought we would take the time to highlight some of the engagement ring trends we’ve been noticing recently. Whether you’re currently shopping for an engagement ring and need a little inspiration or just want to see the types of rings engaged individuals are wearing today, here are the five engagement ring trends for Fall 2019.

Alternative gemstones. Even though natural, mined diamonds are still the preferred center gemstone choice for engagement rings, diamond alternatives are becoming increasingly more common in today’s engagement rings. Natural diamond alternatives, like lab-grown diamonds and moissanite, offer a similar appearance to diamonds but are less costly. While these gemstones don’t have the claim to fame of being created by Mother Nature, they are suitable choices for someone with a limited budget who wants the look of a diamond engagement ring.

Fancy-cut diamonds. Lately, we’ve been receiving more requests for non-round diamond shapes. Specifically, we’re seeing more individuals ask for oval, cushion, and pear-shaped diamonds for their engagement ring center gemstone. Diamond accents. Couples today are looking for rings that have a lot of sparkle. That’s why we’re seeing less interest in traditional diamond solitaire engagement rings and more interest in other styles, like halo engagement rings and rings set with diamonds on the band. Halo engagement rings feature diamonds that completely surround the center gemstone. This tends to make the gem appear larger than it actually is, while also adding extra sparkle.

Vintage-inspired designs. Whether they feature a Georgian, Victorian, Art Nouveau, Edwardian, or Art Deco style, vintage-inspired engagement rings offer a uniqueness that can’t be found in any other type of engagement ring. These rings are romantic, intricately detailed, and eye-catching, making them a popular choice among soon-to-be brides.

Custom design. Today, women want an engagement ring that is different from the rings her family and friends already wear. She wants a ring that represents her individuality, a ring that symbolizes her one-of-a-kind relationship with her future spouse. She wants a ring that is tailored to her personalized style.
