With the holiday season fast approaching, you may be wondering what to get that special someone in your life. Every year, there seems to be a hot new jewelry item that appears on everyone’s wish list and this year is no exception. This year’s most desired jewelry item has been featured in all of the 2016 major fashion weeks. It has consistently been included in jewelry trend predictions and it remains to be the hottest fashion accessory going into the early part of next year. No outfit will be complete without this type of jewelry. So what is it? Well, this holiday season, it’s all about bracelets, bangles, and cuffs!
Women love the ease of putting on and taking off their bangles and cuffs. Lately, we’ve seen the unique, artistic designs commonly seen in earrings and pendants being featured in bangles and cuffs. Designers are becoming more innovative and aren’t afraid to experiment. Now, more than ever women have the chance to find a one-of-a-kind bracelet that really speaks to their personality.
You may recall that last year’s major jewelry trend was stackable rings. We expect to see a similar trend this year, as more and more designers are creating bracelets with the intent of having them layered on top of one another. Depending on the width of the bracelet, you can stack anywhere from two to four bracelets to create a refined, stylized look. Bracelets close in appearance tend to be the best for layering, but we’ve also seen models donning their wrists with very diverse designs on the runway this year.
This jewelry trend comes at an interesting time of the year. Usually we don’t see bracelets being worn too often during the fall and winter months. After all, it’s hard to notice any type of jewelry when it’s being covered with clothes. If you feel hesitant to wear your bracelets during winter, don’t be. The Paris, Milan, and London Fashion Week shows all proved that bracelets don’t have to just be a summer accessory. We saw models sporting their bracelets over their long sleeved tops, coats and gloves. If you do decide to attempt this fashion-forward look, we recommend wearing larger bracelets instead of more delicate pieces to avoid any chances of losing the bracelet.
So this holiday season, layer your bracelets, put them on over your clothes, and wear them with pride.
